Human, nature

We are Indifferent
We are Lost

We will Love

We are Curious
We are Innocent

Here are a few favorite images from a project titled Human, nature shot last spring.  In my attempt to shoot in a more classic style from my previous works, this project encompassed like characteristics of the human race during the many stages of life while placed in an environment which compliments these characteristics/qualities.

Freudian bench

In an attempt to communicate with our environment, I created a children's style telephone in conjunction with a young pine tree.  A formed bench out of stumps and logs found nearby were placed to make a more comfortable environment for those sharing.  It was a playful endeavor to brings to surface a very simple yet functional means of finding peace in natural terrain.

Reverse Graffiti

Seen on Pinterest How-to blogging website  (http://trendland.net/new-trend-the-eco-graffiti/)  I want to borrow this woman's idea to use  natural materials as a means of presenting text.  I want "tag" trees that people have carved initials and other things into.  It is interesting to see the marked dates that people have scribed into trees of all types, but particularly the aspen groves in the area where Basque sheepherders made their trails in the early 1900's.  I want to beautify the scars left on the timeless tree bodies.

I found this other really great site that advocates environmentally conscious art, activities, fashion, inventions, contests and much more.  Much of the art pieces that are shown are very related to a lot of the art we talk about in my 404 class.  Is fabulous.

Flyer art

I saw this one outside the Raleys Supermarket off California, very timely.  Its a wonderful thing to have your eyes opened by creative classes.

As assignment in my Art in public Places class, we were assigned to use words as a means to reach an audience in a simple way.  We were asked to post our words somewhere in the community, I chose to post them in the art building stairwells.  More on the way.
